Composite Finite Element Analyst - June 2011

EireComposites Teo. has a position available for a Composites Finite Element Analyst in an aerospace design environment for a project with an immediate start for a major European airframe manufacturer.

The Position:
The prospective candidate should have experience of, and demonstrate a strong background in modelling lightweight composite material structures using MSC Patran/Nastran. Knowledge of composite static stress methods, hybrid composite/metallic bolted joints, linear & non-linear stability/buckling analysis and composites manufacturing processes is desirable. Experience of damage tolerance, vibration and fatigue stressing would be advantageous.

Practical experience of structural test validation at coupon and element level along with a working knowledge of qualification and certification of airframe structures would also be advantageous. The capability to generate parameter/trade studies and an understanding of component and interface loads generation will be required.

The position will also require close cooperation with manufacturing and project design engineers and direct reporting to Senior Team Leaders. The candidate will be required to effectively communicate and present reports to external customer.
