Design Engineer (Ref: 09/06)

ÉireComposites Teo. has a vacancy for a Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be deployed on design and build work-packages in the field of design and analysis of lightweight composite structural assemblies for aerospace and space programmes. A high degree of knowledge and experience of composites manufacturing processes, part inspection techniques and structural testing would be advantageous. The role involves (in both an R&D and production environment):
" project management
" conceptual and detail design, modelling and drawing of parts, assemblies, tooling and fixtures using CATIA V5 in 3D & 2D
" experience of complex structural assemblies and associated tooling, jigs and fixtures
" understanding and application of process and material specifications and part/assembly tolerancing
" preparation of drawings, data exchange packages, reports and technical presentations
" generation of repair schemes
" liaison and interfacing with customers and suppliers
" an understanding of stress analysis of composite structures
" design and implementation of structural test programmes
" development of innovative and low-cost manufacturing processes
" quality assurance of designed parts with a view to FPQ, FAI and EIS
The prospective candidate will have a minimum of three years design experience in the aerospace industry, be self-motivated, a good team-worker and communicator, and will be enthusiastic and willing to update his skillset in the company's core business areas. Previous design signatory approval would be advantageous
