Stress Engineer (Ref: 09/07)

ÉireComposites Teo. has a vacancy for a Stress Engineer. The successful candidate will be deployed on design and build work-packages in the field of design and analysis of lightweight structural assemblies for aerospace and space programmes. A high degree of knowledge and experience of composites manufacturing processes, part inspection techniques and structural testing would be advantageous. The role involves (in both an R&D and production environment):
" A proven track record in static stress analysis of composite and metallic structures and joints (conceptual and detail design)
" FEA (MSC Patran/Nastran preferred and experience of thermal analysis would be advantageous)
" A good understanding of aircraft composites materials, production methods and processes
" Comprehensive knowledge of Fatigue & Damage Tolerance and structural repair methodology.
" Experience of Qualification and Certification of composite structures
" Quality assurance of designed parts with a view to FPQ, FAI and EIS
" The ability to design and implement structural test programmes, interrogate test data and generate test reports and material allowables.
" Project management, liaison and interfacing with customers and suppliers
" An understanding of component and interface loads generation.
" Preparation of Design Review presentations and Stress Reports
" Liaise with other functions and projects to ensure stress requirements are fully integrated
" Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
" Operate as an approval signatory for stress

The prospective candidate must also be able to demonstrate a professional approach, performance under pressure, the ability to propose innovative design solutions, strong communication and presentation skills, and commercial awareness. It is essential that you are a team worker with the ability to effectively manage yourself and colleagues when appropriate.
