Space

ÉireComposites has the expertise, capacity, and experience to manufacture serial production parts for the space sector. ÉireComposites has been involved in multiple European Space Agency led R&D projects since 2008 and has conducted significant research on materials and technologies associated with manufacturing of components for space applications. ÉireComposites has utilised its own resources, matched with those of the customer in certain cases, and backed by Irish Government Research and European programmes.

Along with OIP Sensor Systems, ÉireComposites is currently designing and producing three stray light baffles, which will form part of the European Space Agency’s ALTIUS satellite. The baffles will be the first external part and largest functioning piece of equipment ever to be manufactured in Ireland and launched into space. Winning this work was possible because of the heritage developed by ÉireComposites from carrying out research and development in materials and processes for the European Space Agency.
